As such, I love crystals, and today, let me tell you about a mysterious stone that you have probably heard of but might not really know much about, moldavite. What is Moldavite? Moldavite is a rare form of tektite that was formed from a meteor impact with earth about 20 billion years ago. The Czech Republic, where the discovery of moldavite was first made, is one of the few places in Europe that have natural samples.

Moldavite is a green variety of tektite, formed by the impact of a meteoroid. It is only found in Bohemia, Czech Republic and has been on Earth for around 20 million years. Moldavite can be seen as symbols of hope and renewal. They come from the stars and contain cosmic energy that we all need to survive on this planet. It has been said that when you touch a Moldavite you feel that it’s alive because it contains the future DNA of earthlings who will live in space in the future. Whether that is true or not, I can certainly tell you that the stone has a mind of its own, and will enter your life when you need it, not when you want it. No, seriously, the stone would disappear on you if you happen to get your hands on it when there is no purpose for it in your life, yet or you are not ready to work with it yet.
How to Find a Quality Moldavite
Moldavite is a high-quality, powerful gemstone that is sought-after by collectors and gem enthusiasts. There are a few methods for judging the quality of a moldavite:
1) The appearance of the stone. Though the stone can be clear or translucent, when looked at under a bright light you should also see gas bubbles inside, which are an indication of a genuine moldavite. In appearance, a raw piece of moldavite looks mossy.
2) The price. Though price should not be a method to determine quality, in the case of moldavite it must be included as moldavite is an expensive stone. You’d be lucky to find a 1-centimeter (.39 inch) piece for less than USD50. The reasons for that include the difficulty of finding the stone as it is only in a few regions in the world, mainly in Czech Republic, and also how small each piece is when found. But the appearance is your safest bet to recognize a real one from a fake one, especially if it is a raw and not refined piece.
3) The way it feels. Ok, this method is valid if you are sensitive enough to feel gems. The stone would feel warm, or vibrate, or both in your hand. You may also feel some tingling. Don’t worry if you don’t feel anything. A genuine moldavite remains genuine whether you can feel it or not. Be careful, however, because if you are too sensitive to energies in general, this stone might make you feel light-headed as you hold it in your hand.

Luckily, some companies have started selling it on the internet, so you just have to do some shopping around on websites such as Etsy or Amazon for your best chance of finding it. Though, be cautious buying online because the web is also where you’d find glass sold as moldavite.
Metaphysical stores are the best places to buy moldavite. The sellers in those places most always have genuine stones – any stones and not just moldavite, and because their reputation is also on the line, they will carry genuine moldavite in store.
Why You Need Moldavite In Your Life
Moldavite is a rare crystal that has been used to bring healing into the lives of many people. It is an unusual crystal and very powerful. This is a stone that finds you, and not the other way around. This means that it will enter your life when you are ready for it and in need of changes. Moldavite is a stone of transformation, and it will clear the things in your life that no longer serve your soul purpose. That job that you hate but don’t have the courage to quit for whatever reason? Moldavite is going to shut that door. That marriage or relationship that is no longer working but you’re clinging on? Yeah, moldavite will take care of it, too. Moldavite pretty much clears the bull manure out of your life whether you ask for it or not. Remember, this is a stone of transformation. With this being said, with moldavite in your life you will see people full of manure walk out of your life, bad relationships (not just the romantic ones) dissolve from your life as well. People with ill intensions usually don’t like the feel of that stone. So, if one walks into your life, they will walk right back out as fast as thunder.
How to Use Moldovite
Moldovite is the key to success. This is not to say that once you have moldavite, success will magically appear or come to you. You still have to work for it and do your part. But with moldavite, your path becomes clearer and if you let it assist you, then only the sky will be the limit, if there is even a limit.
Moldavite is a very strong stone, and the strongest that I have ever seen or worked with. Because of its color – green – it is best for the heart chakra. But it will align more than one chakra. My first moldavite was a pendant. I put it on and would only remove it to shower – though you can shower with it. Water won’t damage it, contrary to popular belief. When I started wearing it around my neck, I could feel my crown, third eye, throat, heart and solar plexus chakras vibrate and be aligned. I also had strong headaches from the stone, and even developed an addiction to it, true story. Do you remember Gollum and The Ring? Moldavite had become my Precious. Luckily, I snapped out of the addiction. It lasted the time needed for my own energy to be familiar and compatible to that of moldavite, which was about three weeks.
Because Moldavite is so strong, I would recommend that you spend a few minutes at a time with it daily. Don’t do what I did because the vibration of this stone is capable to earn you a few-days stay at the hospital. Take the time that you need for the stone to sync with you and your energy. A minute daily is a good start. Increase that time only as you feel comfortable. When you reach the point where you are completely in sync with the stone, then you could have it with you or on you at all time, whether as a pendant, a ring, or just a standalone piece in your pocket. You can also tame your moldavite by paring it with another stone that will make it less overwhelming. Moldavite pairs well with amethyst (a crown and 3rd eye chakra stone), quartz (clear, pink, smokey), selenite, just to name a few.
Moldavite is an excellent stone for meditation. You can place it either over your heart or throat as you meditate, or just have it in your hand(s). If you want to see beyond the human eye, place it on your 3rd eye chakra (between your brows and slightly up). This takes lots of practice, of course, but if you get there, moldavite will help you have extraterrestrial encounters. It is true. Last but not least, moldavite will help you with astral projection, if exploring other realms without going there physically is your thing.
As a Reiki master, I also use the stone to align chakras. As previously mentioned, moldavite is mainly a heart chakra stone, but it will also align all the other chakras. Just place it on the chakra that you want to work with and it will do its magic on that chakra and those around. It works for distance healing too.
