Fat to Fit: Weeks 5 to 9

A well-organized meal prep layout with grilled chicken, chickpeas, and assorted fresh vegetables, accompanied by olive oil and chia seeds, showcasing a healthy and balanced diet.

Y’hello, Beastie! Yes, it’s been a few weeks and I missed you, too. I tried to get back on here to give you the weekly updates, but the truth is that I have not been feeling my best since the last update. I did not tell you the full story about my cycle last time. Not that it is necessarily what you’d like to hear about or anything joyous, but it is necessary to talk about it as it. You already know about my 3-month cycle and adjustments. The compromises for bleeding four times in a year instead of twelve. I get my periods four times in a year, and each time is a month-long bleeding hell. You read that right. Well, a month is very generous. More like up to 6 weeks. And in that time, I get all the amazing gifts that menstruation brings: crippling cramps, strong lower back pains, extreme tiredness, bloating. So, it’s been a rough few weeks and honestly, I can’t wait to be over with all that.

I am also mentally exhausted. I have way too much stress in my life and have to resort to medications to be able to sleep and stay asleep. So, I am in pain daily and with massive headaches, too. I know, I sound like I am complaining but I am not. I am exhausted. And all this mess ruined my plan.

A bathroom scale with a measuring tape loosely coiled atop it, set against a pink background, possibly symbolizing weight management and fitness tracking.

I had numbers for week 5. Weight loss, fat loss, lost in waist circumference, etc. They were good numbers. But the week after is when the bloating started. I was supposed to have another assessment on week 8 but it did not happen. One day the scale would show a 4lbs weight gain, then another it would show 6lbs weight loss. It’s a mess. The fluctuation is ridiculous. So, I just stopped documenting the weight toward the plan and moved to something else.

Don’t worry, I did not drop off the weight loss plan itself. It is still ongoing. I have just been relying more on what I see in the mirror when I am not bloated. And in those moments, having been doing this for a few years now, I can tell whether there’ve been changes to my body, and there has been. So, it is great to know, and helps keep on track and look forward to this period-mess to end already.

I also have some news. I made the announcement on Instagram and Linkedin but I am going to say it here too, in case you missed it. A company, Inevifit, reached out to me to test and review their Eros smart scale. I have been using it since last week, and I have to say, I am excited to review it in a few weeks. I decided to test it for 30 days before I can say anything about it. But I will say something, though. The scale is impressive. It measures your weight, BMI, body fat, fat-free body weight, subcutaneous fat, and many more. It has an app that it synced with so you can see ally hose numbers. Anyways, it is exciting to see what it will tell me in 30 days. The bloating is messing up the measurements but hey, that’ll be something to talk about, too, in the review. You can get the scale for yourself at  20% Off with discount code BTM, or you can wait for the review when I share it. Just keep in mind that this is an affiliate link, which means that I will get a commission from your purchase. It is a way for you to support my content creation.

On other news, I did my first cooking livestream! It was impromptu but I was also testing streaming in the kitchen. That is something that I would like to do more often, to meal prep live with you. So, I am slowly getting the basics I need. Nothing fancy, but decent enough for descent shows. The stream was not bad, I think. In the stream, I made this week’s lunch and dinner, which were, by the way, simple enough yet very nutritious.

This is all I have for you today. Until next time. Hug your loved ones, train mean.
