When we think of meal prepping, we usually think, “expensive”. Though “expensive” is subjective, meal prepping does not always have to be so. did you know that you could make our meals for an entire week with 40USD or less? That is what we did at Beasts Train Mean when we cooked lunch and dinner for an entire week.
WHAT WE BOUGHT:
- Frozen Corn: $2.38
- Chicken Breast: $8.99
- Baby Potatoes: $4.99
- Cornbread: $4.79
- Baked Chicken Wings: $12.49
WHAT WE DID:
We sautéed the corn with onion and then added some water;
We baked the chicken breasts for 20 minutes;
We cut the baby potatoes in halves and pressure-cooked them for 3 minutes;
The cornbread was already made. So, we simply cut it in 8 pieces.
For lunch, we had baked chicken breath with corn and cornbread.

Note: the numbers are approximations.
The above video shows how we made those meals. When it comes to meal prepping, it is all about planning. It does not need to be expensive. Of course, there are a lot of things to consider as well. For instance, the number of people, the gender and age of the people, etc. The amount of food that each individual needs varies, and that number is unique to each individual. In this instance, those meals were for one person. Think about what you would like to have in one week, make your list, and then go shopping!
